Wildwoods International Kite Festival
Where and when: Wildwoods Beach and happening from May 26-29, 2017.
If kite flying is one of your kids’ favorite pastimes, they definitely do not want to miss the Wildwoods International Kite Festival. It is the largest of its kind in North America, and the festival features demonstrations, workshops, and more. What’s more, your kids and you will get to witness the colorful works of kite makers from around the world in action! If you want to check out the illuminated kite flying segment, you can head to Rio Grande Ave at 9 pm. Don’t worry! The festival is free for all attendees.
Offshore Grand Prix at Point Pleasant Beach
Where and when: Point Pleasant Beach and happening from May 19-21, 2017.
At the Offshore Grand Prix, you are in for an exciting experience as you watch speed racers zoom down the waterways. Offshore Powerboat Racing is a well-known festival that has been part of Point Pleasant Beach’s history since the late 1960s. Not only is this festival free to the general public, there will be a boat display on Friday and Saturday. This is held in conjunction with the Point Pleasant Beach Rotary Festival.
Rutgers Day
Where and when: Rutgers University and happening on April 29, 2017.
At the annual Rutgers Day, families can learn more about the arts, sciences, and humanities through an array of performances, hands-on activities, tours, lectures, and more. This festival has gained a statewide presence since its inception, so you wouldn’t want to miss this fun, family-friendly spring festival. You will get to mingle with New Jersey residents of all ages as well!
Cherry Blossom Bloomfest
Where and when: Newark, Essex County and happening on April 23, 2017.
Immerse yourself in the Japanese culture and enjoy seeing cherry trees in full bloom at the Cherry Blossom Bloomfest. This spring festival is 100% family-friendly as there are children’s activities to keep your little ones entertained while you indulge in live music and other Japanese cultural demonstrations. Spring Easter Egg Hunts

There will be two Easter egg hunts happening at two different locations. They are the Kiwanis Easter Egg Hunt (located in Cape May) and the Elks Annual Easter Egg Hunt (located in North Wildwood). The former is suited for first- and second-graders, kindergarteners, and preschoolers. The latter is designed to entertain kiddos aged 11 or younger. You can rest assured that your kids will enjoy their time picking up eggs and collecting prizes!
