Old Tappan is a borough in eastern Bergen County and was incorporated in 1894 by the Act of New Jersey Legislature. Old Tappan’s appeal centers around their outstanding middle and high school systems, great houses on large sizes of land, various parks and recreation services, and their proximity to NYC.
Old Tappan is a part of the Northern Valley Regional High School system which has been as one of the top 50 high schools in New Jersey for several years running with the school located in its town. In addition, Old Tappan has a small town center full of boutique restaurants, convenience stores and a centrally located grocery store. The desire to live in Old Tappan has lead to a population increase of over 28% since 1990.
