Garfield is situated within Bergen County of New Jersey. It lies in close proximity to Saddle River which acts as a border between it and nearby Wallington. There are multiple bridges in the area, some of which cross the River Passaic and the area first underwent development during the 1870s. This city is named after James Garfield, a former American President, and today is a quiet residential community that offers various amenities to visitors and residents alike.

At one time Garfield was a borough which was incorporated, but eventually transitioned into a city by 1917. As such it has a variety of shops and businesses which make it self-contained and not a mere bedroom community like other areas. It is tight knit and there are multiple rivers nearby which allow the residents to enjoy fishing and other water related activities.

This restaurant specializes in poultry dishes, especially those from Peru. Its most popular meal is Lomo Saltado, and the restaurant has also received stellar reviews for its Rotisserie chicken.

  • The Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum

This nonprofit institution is designed to educate the public on the history and development of air and water travel, including space exploration. Visitors will get to learn about some of the world’s fastest planes and underwater vehicles such as submarines. The exhibits are truly educational and highlight American innovation and ingenuity, an experience which can be enjoyed by people of all ages. Just a few of the aircraft on display here are the Concorde and A-12 Blackbird by Lockheed, which have been restored.

  • Overpeck County Park

This county park is an attraction that has been recently renovated, with a bridge that is eco-friendly and playing fields for a variety of sports. There are also multiple trails for biking, jogging or walking along with a nearby amphitheater where you can enjoy concerts. Water sports enthusiasts will also have access to kayaks and canoes, with outstanding views of the local lake.

  • The Montclair Museum Of Art

This facility is community based and highly regarded for its outstanding collection of American artwork, especially its Amerindian pieces. It highlights the various artistic styles which have been developed over the last three centuries, with a grand total of about twelve thousand objects including prints, photographs, paintings and sculptures.
