The Most North-Eastern Bergen County
Alpine is a borough in the most north-eastern Bergen County and was incorporated in 1903 from portions of the now-gone Harrington Township. Shortly after, Alpine acquired a portion of Cresskill.
Forbes listed Alpine as America’s most expensive ZIP code to live in, with a median home price of $4.25m. In previous Forbes listings, Alpine was ranked #4 in 2010 & #1 in 2009. Alpine was also tied with Greenwich for ABC News list of most expensive zip codes in 2006 & 2007. Additionally, New Jersey Monthly magazine listed Alpine as its 15th best place to live in its 2008 publication.
